Seeing Clearly

My portfolio has been mediocre for while now. The mistake I made was jumping in too early. I guess that was due to the excitement of learning something new. I was able to make things feel professional, but I found making things look good isn’t everything. Oftentimes being a team player, proving your value, and being trustworthy are priorities over everything. If the portfolio doesn’t reflect that, it doesn’t say anything.

Jumping in too early is often a misunderstood perspective of what it means to be highly effective. That was my mistake. Doing things accurately is the main result that matters. Now that’s where I’m aiming.

I’m following The Odin Project now. The course is a snail's pace, but these guys seem to really be teaching things to the standards of the industry. That's exactly what I need right now and thankfully I found it at the right time. I look forward to ringing out every drip I can get.

Have you finished a web development course? If so how was your experience?
