The Five Step System To Improve Memory

Eyewitness testimony accounts for more than 50% of wrongful convictions. (according to researchers at Ohio university)  This has been credited towards how flawed human memory can be, not evil people trying to send your innocent grandma to death row. Memory can be shoddy to say the least. But is there anything we can do to help ourselves remember?

Although my goal is that by the end of this list is, you’ll have a system to help remember what you read, don't take it as the word of god. I wrote this as a result of the notes I took reading about memory. This is made to help me, but if it helps you too, that's a nice bonus.

  1. Highlight. This foundational tool feeds the rest of the process.
  1. Take notes. Using your highlights, reword the information.
  1. Label your notes. This helps organize your notes from multiple sources.
  1. Journal those topics. A culmination of information gives you a well rounded understanding of a topic.
  1. Apply knowledge. Make your life better with the information or else it's useless.

Do you have a better way of remembering? Let me know. Maybe we can make this better.
